It burns...it BURNS!

So I broke a new record this morning, running in 18 degree weather with a windchill that made it feel like 6. Six. Degrees. I am a Southern girl, and this is just about to GET to me, I tell ya! Especially after doing our 15 (ish) on Saturday in 60 degree weather. I got so cold I ditched RP after about a mile, turning off to shorten the loop by a half mile or so. I decided to cut it short when my legs started actually BURNING, they were so cold. Weirdest sensation EVER. But after a little ways (and less wind, the direction I was going) I warmed up, and was able to keep going. I made it almost 4 miles, and was SO SO SO glad to get home, and even got a latte at the shop just to pat myself on the back one more time.

Partner didn't even call me crazy this morning. I think he thinks it goes without saying now.

In other news, I am trying to figure out how to get my runs in over the holiday, which for us at the CP household means an actual vacation, first in so very long! Also, with the excessive schedule for Christmas Eve, I have decided to run tomorrow afternoon (the 23rd) and do my sorta-long run (7 miles) versus doing it on christmas eve, which is really what the schedule calls for. I just don't want to be tired unnecessarily on the 24th, and 7 miles still makes me a bit tired! So I'll try to get out for a few miles on Christmas Day if I can. And at my mom's. And at my friend's house. It CAN be done....all I've got to say is, "Sorry, I've got to run." Right?
